Internal The Movement Atrium – Opening & Closing
Creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for every mover, every time.
✅ OPENING PROCEDURES
1. Arrival & Entry
Use the Yale door code to enter the space: 875730 (if this code is ever compromised please let us know immediately).
Lock doors 15 mins after class start time - students are aware that they have a 15 minue grace period.
2. Studio Setup
Turn on studio lights and check for any safety hazards (shake poles for security for pole instructors).
Power on the Bluetooth speakers (Vari V4412):
Turn on both speakers to ensure even sound coverage across the space.
Connect your device and verify volume levels.
Set out any props, mats, or equipment needed for the upcoming class.
Check that the bathroom is clean and stocked with toilet paper and paper towels.
Make sure the studio feels welcoming, tidy, and ready for the day.
**If the studio is cold then preheat is before guests arrive. The heater is loud, so it wont be ideal to teach with it blowing. It’s not an enjoyable experience to take a class with a cold body.
3. Class Prep
Set the tone for your class before your customers arrive, if possible.
Be mindful and respectful of start time; start on time.
Have all props ready before class begins (blocks, straps, mats, etc.) laid out for customers to create the best customer experience.
Remind students: No jewelry on poles for safety and equipment care.
🧹 CLOSING PROCEDURES
1. Cleaning & Resetting the Studio
Wipe down all poles with alcohol thoroughly after use.
Wipe yoga mats, blocks, and any shared props with disinfectant (because no one wants ringworm).
Ensure all props and other items are organized neatly in the cart.
Sweep the floors first, then mop with the swiffer. If the swiffer is empty use the cleaning vinegar and water to fill the dispenser.
Tidy and restock the bathroom. Check that the water is not running and lights are off when finished. Take out the bathroom trash.
2. Power Down & Lock Up
Disconnect from Bluetooth (Vari V4412) and turn both speakers off.
Turn off all lights, including in the bathroom.
Ensure the garage door and all other entry points are fully locked.
Upon exiting from the main door, press the Yale button on the keypad to secure its locked.
